PFI has a long history as a preferred partner in projects for the pulping industry. Over the years, we have gained a thorough experience in developing cost-effective processes for high quality mechanical pulp. In addition, PFI has extensive experience with fibre characterization, both applying established as well as novel characterization methods.
Reducing the energy consumption in the refining process is a major success factor for the industry in times of energy shortage and increasing energy prices.
Our research has shown that the energy consumption differs between different raw materials and by implementation of special equipments and process chemicals. This knowledge is a considerable competitive advantage.
We help our customers with achieving efficient processes for high quality pulp, which contributes to industrial success and profitability.
Good furnish properties can for example give the potential for a good runnability in the paper machine. It is thus important to characterize both physical and chemical pulp properties, which are two of our main expertise areas.
